Arz island
Hang the islands on your walls! Welcome to the Captain's Island: Arz Island. Nicknamed this way by sailors at sea, this little haven of peace in the heart of the Golfe du Morbihan offers many coves along the 17-kilometre coastal path. Hang the islands on your walls!
The Ponant Islands are made of 15 islands along the French coast between the English Channel and the Atlantic Ocean. These islands, which are still inhabited, have joined forces to maintain an active island life. The word Ponant was used by the French Navy and comes from "couchant" (where the sun sets) in opposition to "levant" (used for the fleet of ships based in the Mediterranean).
