"The King of Lighthouses, the Lighthouse of Kings." Classified as a historical monument since 1862, Colbert offered it to King Louis XIV. The first Fresnel lens was installed on this lighthouse. Cordouan is the oldest lighthouse in France still in operation. It signals the entrance to the Gironde estuary. You will be amazed by the "Versailles of the Sea"!
