The legend says that a jealous and angry Scottish giant once challenged his Irish rival, who, to prove his bravery, decided to walk the 30 kilometres between them by throwing stones into the sea. He then built a causeway between the two islands so they could fight. This volcano formation in Northern Ireland is made up of nearly 40,000 hexagonal columns, shaped by time and the tides, forming a pavement that runs from the cliffs and dives into the sea. It's a magical, mystical landscape that's been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986. A must-see for anyone who loves Ireland.
